So I tired to question Goolsbee yesterday for WashingtonStakeout.com -- but he wouldn't take questions. But in the process of researching questions, I came across his statement from two years ago on the Colbert report: "A year from now we’re going to be in a very happy place.” (June 15, 2009). So, with my colleges at the Institute for Public Accuracy today, put out a news release titled "Goolsbee or Colbert: Who's the Clown?" And this evening, it was announced Goolsbee has anounced his resignation. Lesson: Continue provocative headlines on news releases.
Most ironic part: One of the questions I'd wanted to ask Goolsbee -- from Thomas Ferguson -- was about the administration filling regulatory vacancies. But instead of filling vacancies, they are creating them.
